Before I begin sharing some comments on my last article, I must confess, I did not give the best translation of Romans 13, as a few readers so helpfully pointed out. The word that is typically translated "powers" or "authorities" (which I said could refer to a sovereign people as the ultimate earthly authority) is actually the Greek word "exousia," and could also be translated as "liberty", or even "rights".

So, the following, in the KJV:

Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

Could also read:

Romans 13:
Let every soul be subject unto the higher liberty. For there is no liberty but of God: the liberties that exist are ordained of God.

Whosoever therefore resisteth liberty, resisteth the disposition of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

For leaders are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of liberty? Do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:

For (liberty) is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for [free people] beareth not the sword in vain: for [free people] are the minister of God, a revenger to [execute] wrath upon him that doeth evil.

Wherefore [ye] must needs be self-controlled, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.

For for this cause [bring to an end] tribute also: as are God's ministers attending continually upon this very thing.

Remember, as a Pauline book, Romans 13 was written well after the gospel accounts, where Jesus said that the sons were exempt from paying even the temple tax of about 1/4 oz. of silver, about $4.50, per year.

If you examine the entire book of Judges, you will see that God's people, when subject to paying tribute, the tribute payment was always a punishment for disobedience and not following God's ways. Thus, if you are following God's ways, you are therefore NOT bowing down to enemy kings, or false idols, and not paying tribute. Every judge sent by god liberated the people from having to pay tribute, usually by conquoring their enemies with the sword (or with God's help, trumpets and torches) - thus, they did not bear the sword in vain, but used it to restore liberty, time and time again.

I enjoyed your article “Give to Caesar, Give to God". I grew up in a nice middle class family but could never reconcile my feelings for liberty and the god given rights of man with the Christian churches. I gave up on Christianity at a very young age. When I was 18 I was thrown in jail by the FBI for destroying my draft records and refusing to serve. My father said that I had dishonored him by my actions and his Baptist Preacher told me that I would have better served the community by coming home in a box. When it came to income taxes. I never could reconcile what belonged to God and what belonged to Caser all I knew was that this was slavery. The IRS nearly killed me and in tax matters you are not allowed to sue. Then came the 501 C3 and it was clear that churches had given it all to Caesar. I hated Christianity and Christians, considering them nothing but cowards that reveled being slaves.

Your article has helped me to see that it was my misunderstanding that was the source of my hatred of God and religion. With more understanding and wisdom I would have been in a better position possibly convince my advisories that they were wrong. I wish that I would have been more aware and ask God for wisdom. I’ll be 60 in January and perhaps it is time to put away this shield of atheism and pick up a bible and ask for that wisdom.

Christ also directed us to swear no oath. That is what the entire tax system is based on and also begins with bearing false witness when employers falsely inform the IRS that their employees are Code-defined employees when they are not. See attached. I am a Minneapolis attorney, LRC Contributor and am representing a fellow named Pete Hendrickson, who wrote Cracking the Code on his appeal from a tax crime conviction. I was retained after the trial, but it is apparent to me that the trial was a Soviet show trial.

I read your article on www.LewRockwell.Com today.

I wanted to email you to encourage you and to point out some thoughts of mine that would support your argument.

Notice in the end of Romans 12 and the end of Romans 13 the context of those two paragraphs. The ones on either side of the beginning of Romans 13. Interesting that Paul would put obedience to government (the authorities) in the middle of extolling the virtues of loving our neighbors as ourselves, isn't it? And that right after he said to give to others what you owe them (money, respect, honor, etc.) he says to owe no man anything but love.

Perhaps loving our neighbors as ourselves is the embodiment of Godly obedience to government?

After all, if obedience to government absent loving our neighbors as ourselves is Godly then why did we abhor the German Nazis for the Holocaust? Didn't their government tell them to do round up the Jews and other "undesirables" for execution? So even Jewish resistance would have been a violation of God's command?

Also, anytime the Pharisees/Sadducees approached Jesus with a trick question we should naturally take into account that His answer will certainly be a trick answer! You pointed this out, just not directly.

I also wanted to call to your attention the fact that as early as King Saul the Israelite kings started fulfilling the words of Samuel's prophecy. I cannot think of specific references but I distinctly remember reading of several instances where Kings Saul, David and Solomon had officials in charge of "forced labor." Solomon especially. In fact, for all his wisdom, Solomon was the most tyrannical of the three. His taxes were excessive and oppressive, and the levies he called up of laborers and overseers was great. So great, in fact, that the people approached his son about reducing that heavy burden. As we know, his son just wanted to make things even more oppressive.

Speaking of which. Notice that the split during Rehoboam's reign was not only sanctioned by God but also orchastrated by God. (Read when the prophet tells Jeroboam(?) that God's going to take 10/12 of the kingdom from Solomon's descendants and give it to Jeroboam(?).) The revolt, by the way, was a Tax Revolt by the majority of the Israelite tribes against King Rehoboam.

Tax revolutions in the bible that are sanctioned by God?

Makes one think that maybe God doesn't like taxes (i.e. extortion, since payment is compulsory)...

But very good article you've written. Thanks. Keep up the good work. And know that so long as you follow His guidance you will be cared for, even in persecution. ;-)

Jason's notes on the previous letter:

I see in 2 Chronicles 10, the story of Rehoboam; who tried to vastly increase the very heavy tax burden of the former King Solomon.

It appears that God did cause the tax rebellion of the northern 10 tribes.

2 Chronicles 10:15 So the king did not listen to the people, for this turn of events was from God, to fulfill the word the LORD had spoken to Jeroboam son of Nebat through Ahijah the Shilonite.

The last line of the chapter is:

2 Chronicles 10:19 So Israel has been in rebellion against the house of David to this day.

Interestingly enough, it appears to me that the House of Judah is still continuing to try to excessively tax the House of Israel.

I read your article and saw some good thoughts . The two key points are- the 5 dollars are ours not the federals and they should be in silver if we wanted them to be (how would you like to carry $100 around all day in metal?) The other is why should we pay taxes and not the churches who preach 'giving money to the government is good'.
I have other thoughts-why is it the waiters want 15% or more to bring your food to a table when the churches only want 10%. Why does the current governments want 40% or more when the churches want 10%. So if the churches paid their share maybe we could pay less?

One could also add that political human government, in whatever nasty form it takes, is part of the curse placed upon man from the beginning. (Your husband shall "rule" over you - not God's "order," a curse.) Or part of the subjection to vanity God has placed those who live by this world under. From God's appointment, yes. His will? In no way.

He has redeemed us from every part of the curse.

So if some come against you, be encouraged, there are truer hearts who stand with you.

Thank you for listening to your wife and taking the time to write this; it is very much needed. The Christian church today, generally speaking, is full of hypocrites and people who don't even take the time to understand their own God-given text (the Bible) and we all suffer for it.

I am writing this out of my own experience as a born-again Christian and I know all too well the poor condition the Church is in. I am constantly amazed (and saddened) when I hear debates among Christians as to what's wrong with this country and how "we" need to fix it (i.e., through the state).

(I apologize for not being able, this morning, to pull together the scriptural quotations)

The Israelites were to stone to death anyone who led them out of God's will, out of His covenant, away from their estate. Seducers were to be harshly dealt with.

By kneeling unto Caesar (acknowledging his power over them) the Sanhedrin not only acknowledged they no longer believed in God, but that even if they did they no longer had faith that God is greater than earthly powers that threaten God's people.

God further instructs the Israelites to slay out of hand any enemy who attempts to take His Land.

So ... I further read Jesus' answer as including Slay Caesar, for that is his due, then come back here and present yourselves to be stoned for having led the children of Israel down this path of unbelief.

The assembled priests and scribes (lawyers) knew scripture thoroughly. To me, Jesus handed them the ultimate sentence.

Render unto Caesar what he is due .... under the Covenant God your Father made with you. Then come back here and render unto God what you owe him for your sins against the Covenant and against Israel itself.

Jason, I just finished reading your article, http://www.lewrockwell.com/orig10/hommel2.1.1.html and wholeheartedly agree and no accountant can show you in title 26 of the code your requirement to file, State or Federal. Thanks for bringing this to the Sheep, this will be the way to cut the head off the snake of ungodly and unconstitutional government. The people need to know they are in the right to refuse to pay these taxes.

Another issue I wish you would clarify is the issue of who the true people of God are. Who is true Israel and who is NOT. Just like the tax question, the identity of true Israel is misunderstood by many. Revelation 2:9 and 3:9 expose those that say they are Jews but are not, but are of the synagogue of satan. Also 2 john tells us those who deny Jesus is the Christ come in the flesh are the anti-Christ. The false prophets in the pulpits today are leading Gods people astray by teaching that the people we call "Jews" are descended from Abraham, Issac, and Jacob Israel, they are not, they have no blood connection to Jacob.The Bible tells that true Israel would lose their identity and in the latter days regain their true identity. The Bible also says that true Israel would number the earth like the sands of the seas and stars of the sky, set up a multitude of nations, be benificial to all nations, and many other traits unique to Israel. The people known as "Jews" have none of these traits, the peoples who settled western Europe and migrated to America (Godly Kingdom) possess these traits and are awakening to their true identity as the people of God called Israel.

I pray you address this most important issue, this knowledge will solidify in the minds of true Israel the fact that we truly are "Kings and Priests of the most high God". You can't know where you are going unless you know where you came from.

Interesting article. However there is a much more efficient answer for both believers and non believers: When one reads to Constitution of the United States, one discovers, he IS Caesar! We are all Caesars. Case closed. It is not a spiritual question. Christ could have no more referred to our form of government than he might have alluded to a six lane interstate highway or a Boeing 747. All were irrelevant to the people. He, no doubt, understood the future birth of our country but apparently chose not to confuse the public with such info.

Sadly, we here in America, act more like serfs than Caesars.

Excellent article.

Pastor Baldwin put in much similar terms 2 weeks ago in his Sunday morning live stream video service and said basically that Christians i.e. believers in Christ are in fact Kings and, or sons of a King so they need not pay taxes. However, he also pointed out that the reason people pay taxes is because they are afraid of going to jail. I agree on both but have always asked this question to both Pastors and pew sitters.

I believe that all the money I have belongs to God and God expects me to use it for His glory. This means that all the "taxes" I pay is also God's money so here's the question to Pastors and Pew Sitters:

If you agree that all the m money you have is given you by God and you know that part of your taxes which is still God's money is used to murder the innocent while yet in the womb, do you think you will be judged and found lacking by God?

Or do you think that since you knowingly are just as guilty of murder as the tax collector, that since Jesus has forgiven you for all of your sins you can just shrugg your shoulders and leave it there?

Never have got a straight answer.

You missed a REALLY big point - render unto Caeser

The denarius had Caeser's image on it.
The temple money didn't.

So you had money changers. You bought coins without graven images for use within the temple. At a premium.
Y'shua (Jesus) kicked their asses for selling temple coins. Profitability rocks until you start selling God. Then you piss him off.

Many had both coins with them. Kinda like if we had Federal Reserve Notes, AND real money too. I could pay YOU in silver coin, but Caeser/current regime in FRNs. Since Caeser owns the FRNs, he has the right to tax them, at least he thinks.

So render unto Caeser what is Caeser's, and render unto YHWH what is YHWH's.

Simple.

Just don't carry FRNs. Carry silver.

Whether you do or don't, (and this is not asking for advice nor legal council) how can a true Bible believing Christian get out of the "system" when everywhere we turn there are obstacles preventing us (or trying to prevent us) from doing so? Having ones own business certainly gets the ball rolling in the right direction on this issue, but how can we apply this teaching to its fullest? To me, THAT is the question. Any thoughts you can offer, to me, is considered biblical truths/principals that cannot be misconstrued to mean legal advice and therefore would not fall under the "legal advice" qualification. My question is simply being stated from a biblical standpoint only.

I noticed that you did not include Jesus's explanation of taxes given
to Peter when confronted about paying temple taxes.

He also explains that kings will demand tribute from strangers
(foreigners) rather than their own children. I've included the KJV
version of the reference below.

Jason's comments on Matt 17: the temple tax dispute.

First of all, this was NOT income taxes, nor taxes to Ceasar. It was the Biblical temple tax of 1/2 of a silver shekel per person. My research has shown me that a shekel was anywhere from about 1/3 of an oz. of silver to 2/3 of an oz. of silver, so a 1/2 shekel was about 1/4 of an oz. of silver, or about $4.50 per year, at today's silver price of about $18/oz. This tax was soon to "go away" given that Jesus tore down and replaced the entire system of animal sacrafices with his own sacraficial death, and there is no need for a temple anymore, since our bodies are the temple.

Second of all, JESUS DISPUTED EVEN THIS TINY $4.50 per year TAX! As a son of God, he climed he did not have to pay it -- and thus, neither do we, as his followers, WE ARE EXCEMPT! IF YOU DISAGREE, THEN PLEASE SEND IN YOUR 1/2 SHEKEL TO THE TEMPLE OF ISRAEL EVERY YEAR, IN OBEDIENCE TO THE LAW. Or, if you believe that we are now the temple, as God says, then give yourself 1/2 of a silver shekel per year! Or more, as you see fit, of course!

Third, But Jesus did want to pay it, so as to not give offense. Why? What offense? For if he did not pay it, he would turn Peter into a liar, who spoke out of place! Peter did that more than once; he's the guy who later cut off a guy's ear! If you read the Bible book of Judges, God cannot deliver Isreal, because Israel makes pacts of peace with their enemies, in contrast to the commandment of God to not make peace with their enemies. Why? Because if God helped them to conquor their enemies, God would be helping his people lie, and God does not lie!

Fourth, Jesus uses a miracle, of a prophecy of a coin appearing in a fish's mouth to pay the tax. But Peter has to still actually do the work of catching the fish, because he spoke out of place. Therefore, it would not be inconsistent with this Biblical example to say that if you speak out of place and falsely claim that you need to pay taxes, you are going to require a miracle of God for your own deliverance, and you will still end up doing the work!

I won't persecute you because, as a follower of the Truth, (Jesus) I happen to agree with you. I knew all this in my heart (via discernment) but just haven't taken the time to put together all the appropriate verses to prove it. I hate the way the apostate, freemasonic controlled "pastors" love to fall back on Rom 13 to enslave their sheep to the antichrist they truly serve. I always fall back on Psalm 62:9 "Men of high degree are a lie" to which they have no response. That pretty much says it all to me about our so called "leaders". You didn't leave the apostates much wiggle room, so of course they will have to resort to persecution of some kind or simply ignore you as is usually the case with me when I expose darkness to them. It won't be long until God pours out His wrath on the daughter of Babylon (America, Jeremiah Chpt. 50 & 51, Isa Chpt. 13&47, Rev Chpt. 18) and destroys her in one hour. Your article about Giving to Caesar has answered some questions about taxation that I have had for a very long time. It was an area that I knew that taxation was wrong but I didn't have the Biblical answer as proof. A great article.

I have some ideas about starting a ministry but I want to do it without any governmental ties, 5013c, etc.

Do you have any ideas or info on being a truly non-associated "religious institution" not controlled by state or federal laws?

I have other ideas that are really pro-freedom but some will think that I am just anti-governmental, city, state & federal.

I believe Christians should become totally free from all laws, except the Laws of God, which will put US at odds with all agencies, city, state & federal.

I read your Caesar and taxes article.

I would like to comment, I think you missed the point about the Bible quotation, because you are looking at the taxes incident naturalistically instead of from the supernatural / spiritual point of view.

TO SUMMARIZE my views: Jesus meant to say that we should dedicate ourselves to God completely, and any person truly loving God and not wishing to engage in blasphemy (a spiritual crime), should avoid Caesar and anything with his image or his doings.

Jesus mostly speaks in terms of the supernatural, since he is from there, the Kingdom of Heaven.

The Caesar coin showed the face of Tiberius, son of Augustus. Augustus first started Emperor Worship of himself, and had 2 temples to worshiped as a god.

IN CONCLUSION: Jesus asked to be shown the coin with the face of Caesar, He did not even wish to touch the blasphemous thing, a man in a position given the honors of Son of God and High Priest…none of the true living God but rather from His enemy.

What does this mean about taxes?

We have no moral imperative to go out of our way to pay taxes to blasphemers against the true living God the Father and his one and only Son.
In todays world, paying taxes is feeding the great antichrist machinery out there, and we will not go to Hell for not feeding the evil machinery. We might get some negative consequences in this life from taxers but that’s it.

However, we do have a moral imperative for Charity and we should attempt to follow the Old Testament example of Abraham to donate 10% of our income to Charity, especially if we converse our income by withdrawing ourselves from the antichrist system.

And in a truly Christian government, in which Christ the King is recognized and the Natural and Divine Laws are legislated and followed in society, in THAT society, we do have the moral obligation before God to pay taxes.

But in that society, taxes and tax rates would be just and not injust, meaning low reasonable taxes because society would be organized organically (civil society) rather than through an all-powerful collectivist State which takes over the functions of Life and Death just as a god.

I think the above is the best foundation of being properly anti-tax.

So anyone who wants to go tax-free under authority from God, can only do so if the taxing authority is anti-God. If the taxing authorithy recognizes Christ the King, then we are morally compelled to pay taxes.

In general, if you want to read more about our rights given by God under the Divine and Natural Laws, best to read books about the School of Salamanca from Spain, Dominican priests who wrote about our freedoms given by God that no tyrannt may take away.

I don’t like John Locke, who is not a Christian. We have our rights to GOD, Life, Liberty and Property…he forgot to add God first to the list, he was a naturalistic Deist, which eventually with time turns in to Atheism and then the war against Life, Liberty and Property itself.

I agree that Jesus didn't say to pay taxes, but I contend that he went further and emphatically told us do not pay taxes. Jesus asks whose portrait is on the coin. The Pharisees reply "Caesar's" He then says give to Caesar what is his. But Caesar does not own the coin, therefore we must not give it to him. By asking whose face is on the coin He manages to get the pharisees to confuse that with who owns the coin. By then mentioning ownership He simultaneously conveys to Christians the fact that Caesar does NOT own the coin. Thus when we are told to render unto Caesar's what is Caesar's, we are being told that we must in no way give our money to "Caesar" (coercive institutions/people) because it does not belong to them. So, in point of fact, Jesus told people that they must not pay taxes/tributes to Caesar.

Statists believe that they have moral and religious backup for imposing taxes on people against their will. This false belief on their behalf pisses me off to this day. They believe that Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the son of God, said that we should pay taxes, or, at the very least, condoned or consented to the paying of taxes (paying tribute to Caesar). I find this very hard to believe. I am most confident that Jesus is an anarchist. I cannot believe that the only man who has never sinned is okay with the idea of taking money from people against their will.

This particular argument has bothered me for many years. Up until recently, I had no retort for this argument. The statist I happened to be arguing with at the time uses this line as a final “the defence rests” argument. It’s a closer for statists.

This was the case a short while ago when trying to get a semi laizze-faire bible thumper to understand that any and all government is evil simply because they take money from people against their will. I was arguing that I don’t want to pay taxes, therefore the government is stealing from me, and nothing that is funded by theft can be anything but evil. She was quite happy with the argument that being funded by theft equates to evil. But she did not agree that tax is evil because, to paraphrase her, “tax isn’t evil because Jesus said give unto Caesar”. She was of course referring to the opening quote.

It was at this moment that I came to understand that Jesus never once said that tax is good. He never said “pay your taxes”. The situation surrounding that quote was one in which the Pharisees were trying to trick Jesus into saying something seditious. They either wanted him to say “don’t pay tax” so that they could arrest him, or say “pay taxes” so that he lost popularity with his followers. However, he said neither. He knew they were trying to trick him, so he used a straw man argument: he answered a question that they did not ask.

Jesus asked the Pharisees to bring him a coin. When they did He asked them “whose image” is on the coin. They answered “Caesar’s”. He then stated that you should give (render) to Caesar what is Caesar’s. Well of course He did. He stated that one should give to Caesar what is his property. Being a good (the best) anarchist Jesus is obviously in favour of property rights. The confusion of the matter comes into effect when people assume that Jesus pointing out that Caesar’s face is imprinted on the coin is the same as Jesus implying that that means that Caesar owns the coin. This is the mistake. After this assumption is made it is easy to see how they think that He said you should pay taxes when he followed this up with “Render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s”.

The problem is that people do not realise that they have made an assumption. They think that it is logic, not a non-logic based assumption.

If you’re face is on an object does that mean that you own it? Do all those dead presidents own ever single Dollar that their faces appear on? Does Lisa own Da Vinci’s painting? My face appears on several class photos from high school. Does that mean that I own every single copy of that photo? What about the other people in the photo, do they own it at the same time as me?

Obviously not. Having your face imprinted on an object does not equate to ownership. In fact, even if we assume that he did own it originally, you traded your labour for his coin. Now Caesar owns the fruits of your labour, and you own the coin.

Knowing this, we come to realise that when Jesus asked whose face is on the coin, He was in no way saying that Caesar owned the coin (this is the neutral interpretation of His words). Thus when He followed it up with his famous (infamous) statement “give unto Caesar”, He was not saying that one should pay taxes. In fact He was merely espousing anarchist values. In fact one could argue that Jesus was waiting for us to come along one day and question what He said. To delve deeper into His words and uncover the hidden meaning.

As for me, I like to take it one step further. I like to think that not only was Jesus not saying that the coin belonged to Caesar, I feel that by asking whose face was imprinted on the coin, Jesus was in fact pointing out that Caesar had no claim to the coin (or any state to any coin), and thus was actually giving direct, if somewhat obscure, instructions to NOT pay taxes. If Caesar doesn’t own the coin, and one must follow anarchist principles and give Caesar his property and his property alone, i.e. no-one else’s, in accordance with anarchy’s one law, then one must absolutely not give Caesar one’s money. Thus I feel that Jesus was, in point of fact, telling the world to not pay taxes, as the money does not belong to the state, and therefore the state has no claim to it. Therefore when a state claims taxes, they are stealing, and therefore the state is evil because it is funded by stealing. (I think of this as the active interpretation of His words).

To summarise: The Pharisees (and some other dude) approached Jesus with a devious plan in mind. They were going to trick Jesus. What with Jesus being Divine and all, this was not going to prove a good plan. They attempted to trick Him with a question about whether Caesar’s taxes (coercive) were just, and he answered them with a series of statements that:

- At minimum, had absolutely nothing to do with what they asked. When asked if taxes are just, He might have well have answered “look at that pretty cloud over there”. To paraphrase:

“Jesus, is tax just?”

“Bring me a coin.”

Not exactly overwhelming consent, or anything to do with the question for that matter. Thus Jesus in fact gave no answer to their question.

At most (as far as Jesus is limited by such trivial things as human imagination), Jesus made a series of obscure statements that seemingly had nothing to do with their answer, thus placating/confusing them, while in fact carefully worded these statements such that later generations (us) could find the less than subtle meaning, and come to the logically provable conclusion that Jesus was actually stating that one should actually not pay tax. From this acknowledgement from Christ that coercive tax is evil, Jesus has enabled us to prove logically that any state making use of a coercive tax is evil (thus also leaving an opening for panarchy).

Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls. Jesus and God is on our side.

Not exactly related, but if you are regularly writing of passages of scripture which clearly discourage faith in state rulers and encourage industry and faith in God, consider the following. I heard this on my audio Bible on the way to work today. Never really thought about it in terms of current events until today:

Proverbs 6: (AMP) 6 Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider her ways and be wise!—
7 Which, having no chief, overseer, or ruler,
8 Provides her food in the summer and gathers her supplies in the harvest.
9 How long will you sleep, O sluggard? When will you arise out of your sleep?

Amazing how relevant! It is an indictment against sluggards. Of course, such a society of ‘workers’ like the ant happily working together (division of labor) actually takes work (and not filching off a state ruler, chief or overseer). But it is worth envisioning!

I am Native American (First American) and I understand the need to know the meaning of the word 'sovereignity'.

I also understand that God wishes to be our king (and our ONLY king) like you said, and when we allow Him to rule our lives - we truly then (and only then) can call ourselves 'Christians'.

But, be also very careful - I have an aquaintance now in prison who preached and taught a message very similar to this one - and, it seems 'freedom of speech' doesn't apply to those taking on this task.

Your assertion that kings are thieves and tyrants hits the nail right on the head - therefore, they will use any method they have to quiet anyone threatening to undermine the authority they have stolen in the first place.

Simpler answer: By asking the Pharisees, "whose image is on this coin?" Jesus directed them to the 2nd commandment, which forbids bowing down to any image for any reason. The Pharisees instantly knew the answer, without Jesus having to say anything more.

To understand the craziness around us in this age, we need to understand God first. God uses prophets to encourage his people, and those who have ears will listen, and hearken, and turn back to Him. The new covenant of Jesus frees us from the old laws- all of them (even though we are grafted into the Jewish family). Obviously many of the old laws are beneficial (day of rest, what not to eat) but following them is not the way into Heaven. What church will tell people they do not need to tithe to an institution (church or government)? I give to the jailed, widows, orphaned, etc. and am a cheerful giver.

Greatly appreciated your article "Give to Caesar; Give to God". This is one of the sharpest arguments we've seen for the Kingdom of God. We're always looking for articles like this to put on our website (freedomuniversityonline.com).

One suggestion: your article was sound and stayed on point and was almost unassailable until you concluded with your restated version of Romans 13. Rather than being a concise and fitting conclusion it opened up more questions than answers and may confuse readers. It might have been handled better as the central theme of a second article with better explanation, in character with the rest of your article.

Jason, this was excellent and I am sure the Holy Spirit was guiding you in this writing. I am a new Christian and I came to faith because of what I saw happening in this world. Through a series of events and a good neighbor I started reading the Bible. First I read the NT then started on the OT. By the Time I got to Ruth 4:14 and read "Praise be to the LORD, who this day has not left you without a kinsman-redeemer" it came over me that Christ was the redeemer for humanity. I thank you for your writing it is the Holy Spirit working through you.
And it has been written before all of this is done that all Christians will have to make a choice, I pray that when that day comes our faith will shine through fro each of us.

I receive your emails but don't often comment or reply. I thought today's was spot on. Not sure why so many Christians miss the truths you shared today. "The Church" has been dumbed down in much the same way America has, unfortunately.

In Samuel the "King" only took 10%. Now the Fed-King takes over 50% in taxes in one form or another in order to pay the interest on the national debt and to take money out of circulation to preclude runaway inflation. You are correct, the people are sovereign under God -King but most people are like dogs that return to it's vomit and will pay homage to the earthly kings and queens which helps to explain American fascination with European royalty and why they accept bondage under the Zionist-Jew controlled Federal government because they think it offers them security when all they will get is slavery (un-payable bonded indebtedness.) Christian-Zionists are the worse of the lot. Pure idiots. I have said this before; the holy grail of the old writings is the loaning of monies for interest that compounds. We live in a debt forever system that the Jews have perfected through the ages since the time of ancient Babylon. (What do you think they were doing in ancient Babylon, playing numbly peg?) Don't kid yourself. The peoples of ancient times were better off when their Kings and priest hood took only 10%. Now the Talmudic Zionist Jew will take it all because people have been hard wired to believe that they are God's chosen people and they deserve to have it all. I've enjoyed your emails for quite a while and I never reply to these types of things , but Im making an exception this time. Jason, that's probably the best one youve ever done. I really enjoyed it. No doubt there will be those who will criticize you for that one, but it's not going to come from me.

Your take on Romans 13, however, could be a little skewed perhaps. I'll have to pray and look in to that. What I find questionable is your translation of the greek word "exousia". If youre interested, I attached a short study on Romans 13 that you may find interesting. It's not so different from your take on it, but I think it clarifies the true intent of Paul's message very well.

I recommend that you go to www.sermonaudio.com and listen to the sermons from Pastor John Weaver regarding Romans 13, the Christian and Civil Government. Next I advise that you go to www.chuckbaldwin.live and listen to his Sunday Sermon 7-12 17 regarding the passage you noted.

First I ask you this, you have money in your pocket right? Who's money is it? Is it God who gave you that money or did you earn it by yourself? And if it is God's money, then He gave it to you to be used for His glory right?

And is paying taxes and using God's money for the murder of the innocent in the womb for God' glory? And if not, do you pay taxes? And if so, one day do you believe that you will stand in front of your creator and give an account of how you gave the money accounted to you for the murder of the innocent?

And if not, may I recommend that you attend the Old Paths Conference at the Church at Kaweah in October where the guest speakers will be Pastors Baldwin and Weaver.
